Dental fillings

There are many different types of fillings for restoring a cavity’s tooth. The dental amalgam, created over a century ago, is made of metal alloys. Mainly used on posterior teeth, the dental amalgam is very sturdy and durable and can resist the strong dental pressures.

The composite resin filling, more natural-looking, imitates almost perfectly the tooth’s color, is applied in a treatment room, solidified using light, and is then adjusted and polished.

The ceramic incrustation (CEREC) is mostly recommended when faced with a deep cavity. CEREC is way more durable than a composite resin filling since its closest to the tooth’s enamel and gives 98% of its normal strength back.
